Hey there Montavilla,

The general meeting will be held at the Montavilla United Methodist Church, in the upstairs atrium, from 6:30-7:30pm on August 6th, 2017.

This meeting’s agenda will be as follows:

6:30-6:35

-Montavilla food pop-up: local neighbors ramping up to share food and resources with the needy. Report back from the first pop-up, questions about program cuts (Vestal?), and discussion about what mutual aid in the community can look like (Milenio’s event below).

6:35-6:45

-Anti-Racist Neighborhood Watch and possible speaker: discussion around supporting the Anti-Racist Communities movement. Reference link below.

6:45-6:50

-Community Hotline: discussion about using the existing call server to host a “support” line for the neighborhood, could include: mental health services (immediate), index of local community resources (orgs), “safe walk home” volunteers, rapid-response to community needs, but also whatever utility the community may see, perhaps like an MNA announcement message for current proposals and decisions.

6:50-7:00

-Board status updates: Multiple changes in board personnel have occurred, a discussion on group dynamics, capacity, and community communication/involvement would seemingly be beneficial. Collective visioning based on the history and purpose of a Neighborhood Associations in Portland might lead to a path forward.

-Q and A: General discussion between the board and community members regarding recent resolutions, etc.
Town Hall rescheduling: Due to logistical issues with a decision made by ONI, the Town Hall must be rescheduled to a later (TBD) date. Hopefully it will be a much larger event with some cooperation with local orgs, associations, and neighbors.
