Warming Shelters for Homeless

With temperatures having been at below freezing the last few nights I wanted to point out that JOIN is accepting donations of blankets, caps, sweaters and other items to hand out to the homeless in the area. Additionally if you see someone out in the cold you can call 211 or ask if they would like to so they can get a ride to a warming shelter.

Join has asked members of the public able to donate to take items to JOIN’s homeless day center at 1435 N.E. 81st Ave. at the corner of Northeast 81st Avenue and Halsey Street between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. For large or off-hour donations, call Jolin at
